This is a short loop trail through thick forest of pine & just a few oak. The trail is mostly smooth except one small hill section. Badger Clark trail is named after SD’s first poet laureate, Charles Badger Clark because it passes by his former cabin named “The Badger Hole”.
- Start at the State Game Lodge in Custer State Park.
- Take Hwy 16A towards Custer.
- Go appx 5 miles take a left on Badger Clark.
- You will find the trailhead in appx 1/2 mile.
