We have hiked this trail every year as its also one of our favorites. Its a little different this year as the fire definitely did some damage. Regardless, the hike is beautiful and has an amazing view from the top. We hiked it just a few weeks ago, it was a chilly start but was nice once we hit the top.

Crow Peak is a moderate intensity hike that could be utilized for mountain biking and trail running as well. The trail is well traveled and you’ll see a handful of people. Takes roughly 3-4 hours depending on how fast you are pacing yourself. There are a few rocky/scree fields to pass but shouldn’t deter you from reaching the top. I recommend at least 2L of water and a small snack to refuel at the top. The area is still recovering from the 2016 fire but the trail is free from downed trees and debris.

It’s long but switchbacks enough you don’t feel like it’s too steep. Had to navigate around a few down trees after the fire but still able to get to the top with no problem.

Referencing MapMyHike log completed 8/14/16 as well as other times – this was my first hike on Crow Peak after the fire. It still had lots of green spots and it was interesting to see how it had been affected. Still a great view from the top.

trail excellent for a hard workout with beautiful views of the region from the summit. Only minor downside are the burn scars from the prior forest fire but the trail is clear and easy to do and follow. Footing rocky on the final 3/4 mile or so on the scree slopes so just watch your step. Lots of wildlife and wildflowers as well. Nice to see the work done to clear downed trees from the trail.

I absolutely love this trail. It’s quite the climb, though, and I had to take a couple of breaks before I reached the top. But the view is absolutely worth it.
