Distance: 6m round trip | Climb: 430ft | Surface: dirt
Named in honor of First Lady Grace Coolidge, wife of President Calvin Coolidge. This is a fairly easy hike along Grace Coolidge Creek (a popular area for fly fishing), however the creek crossings can be difficult. Expect wet feet as you will cross the creek over a dozen times. (A great trail for dogs or kids who like to cool off during a hike!) Seven dams are located along the trail. Watch for poison ivy & keep an eye out for rattlesnakes.
- From Custer, take Hwy 16A east to Hwy 87.
- Head north on Hwy 87 to Playhouse Rd.
- Turn right onto Center Lake Rd. The north trailhead is adjacent to the swim beach at Center Lake.
