Old Baldy is surrounded by primarily aspen, birch and ponderosa pine. Unique features include 2 small bridges, Old Baldy Lake and Old Baldy Mountain. This is an excellent hike to see fall colors and the late spring green.
- From I-90 at Spearfish, take Exit 8 and travel south on the Old Belle Fourche Road/McGuigan Road to FSR 134/Tinton Rd.
- Turn right on FSR 134/Tinton Rd. and travel appx 13 miles to the trailhead on the right.
- From Savoy in Spearfish Canyon, take FSR 222 (Roughlock Falls) 6 miles to FSR 134.
- Turn right on FSR 134/Tinton Rd. and travel 1.1 miles to the trailhead on the left.
