This easy trail follows Wind Cave Canyon to the park boundary fence. You will find a good mix of sun and shade and this is one of the best places in the park for bird watching. Be on the lookout for Cliff Swallows, Great Horned Owls or woodpeckers.

This trail has been known to have poison ivy and rattlesnakes, so stay alert.

Directions

From Hwy 79, take Hwy 385 North towards Wind Cave National Park Visitors Center. Continue past the turn to the Visitors Center .8 miles until you reach the trailhead on the right.

From Custer State Park, take Hwy 385 South past the North entrance to Wind Cave Visitor Center. Continue past the turn to the Visitors Center .8 miles until you reach the trailhead on the Left.
